Quickie:Keep Jose

It seems Toronto doesn't like Jose's. The Blue Jays are rumored to be willing to trade Jose Bautista. This comes to a shock to Toronto sport fans as he leads the league in Home Runs with 30.The last game he played he went 4 for 4 with 2 Home Runs, if they trade that type of potential away I will start to cry. At first I didn't like this guy because we had a great third baseman when he came along in Scott Rolen. Now I love the way he hits the ball and his arm isn't bad either. He is perfect for Toronto because he isn't American, he's from the Dominican Republic. Every good American player that has played for Toronto has left in a rush to get back to there trailer parks in a America. Other than V.WELLS, Roy.H, Greg Zaun and Scott Downs but the last two came from the Expos. Here a list of players that left and are still playing today and are stars. Orlando Hudson, Jayson Werth, Scott Rolen, David Bush, Chris Carpenter, Ryan Freel, Troy Glaus, Erik Hinske, Ted Lilly, Alex Rios, Randy Wells. Keep Jose Bautista, he doesn't mind being in Canada.

Love The Classic Jerseys...Don't You?

THESE TEAMS IN MY OPINION, SHOULD CHANGE THEIR JERSEYS BACK TO WHAT THEY WERE IN PAST YEARS. BOTH TEAMS LOST THERE STAR PLAYERS IN THE LAST FEW YEARS. IT'S A GREAT WAY FOR FANS TO FORGET THEM, YOU MAY REMEMBER THE RAPTORS DID THIS WHEN VINCE CARTER LEFT TOWN. JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE CLASSIC JERSEYS OF THE TORONTO BLUE JAYS AND TORONTO RAPTORS.

Quickie: Argos Without QB

No matter how many you sign, it's not going to work. It seems the Toronto Argos just can't find a QB. Maybe if everything fails they will just resign the retired Damon Allen. We all know he can throw the ball 20 yards, unlike the ones we have now.

Quickie:What Ever Happened to Mike Van Ryn?

On September 8th 2008 the Toronto Maple Leafs traded Bryan McCabe and a fourth round pick for the 2010 NHL entry draft to the Florida Panthers in return for the younger defence man Mike Van Ryn. Bryan McCabe had to waive his no trade clause for the deal to go threw. The deparcher of McCabe was rumored for some time in Toronto so maybe he just didn't feel welcome anymore. The trade was delayed for a little because the Panthers wanted the Leafs to pay his 2 million dollar pay check just before he left town. Bryan McCabe would go on to become a star in Florida and be named Captain.

Bad Trade For Leafs:

The Leafs thought they were getting a player that had better potiental than McCabe. Van Ryn would go on to show none of his potiental in his 27 games, only putting up 3 goals and 8 assists. Those stats aren't awful but it isn't anything to be proud of.

What should of been done:

What they should of done in the first place is never traded McCabe in my opinion but if you had to, this is what they should of done in this deal. First off, why are the leafs giving up a draft pick at all?. You knew Mats Sundin wasn't going to come back to Toronto and you should be getting draft picks to rebuild. The Leafs could of got a nice high first round draft pick instead of Mike Van Ryn from the Florida Panthers. Send a minor league forward to fill the gaps if Florida isn't fully intrested. Sad news is that this didn't happened and what actually did was Mike Van Ryn got injured in the 2009 season then didn't even play in the 2010 season. Most to all Leaf fans don't even remember Mike Van Ryn but I havn't forgot just yet, because of this I expect him to live up to the player that he was thought to be.

Raptors important off season

Everybody that is an NBA fan knows that this upcoming off season is the most interesting one in NBA history. With the some of the best players out in the open for the taking, these free agents have the power to change the shape of NBA for many years to come. If your a Raptors fan chances are that your eyes have been on Chris Bosh the whole 09-10 season. As Raptors let down fans by missing the playoffs for the second straight season they also have a monkey on their back as they don't know what to do with their star player Chris Bosh. If that wasn't a big enough issue they also have problems with their 50 million dollar man Hedo Turkoglu. Coming into Toronto there was high hopes for the clutch shooter but things seemed to fall part as time went on. The teams bad play fell onto the shoulders of Hedo as his PPG(points per game) dropped to 11.3 from 16.8 from his previous season in Orlando.

It is my belief that the Raptors will let Bosh go. Now I thought if Bosh left there would more room for Hedo Turkoglu in the offence but Hedo couldn't keep his mouth closed and live up to his contract so it looks like we have to get rid of him. If Bosh leaves than we have the salary cap to fit a higher payed player than Turkoglu. The best trade that I have came across so far is one that see's Hedo Turkoglu going to the Wizards. I bet Hedo wouldn't mind going to a team that doesn't have offence and has the first overall draft pick. Who comes to Toronto? A player who has more problems than Hedo. Gilbert Arenas has a heavy contract of 111 million dollars, which won't be a problem because Bosh wants 123 million.He has gun charges and hasn't played that much basketball in the last two seasons because of injury. It sounds bad but it will mostly likely work, both players need a change and both need room for up and coming stars. As the Wizards will draft John Wall, a point gaurd, same as position as Arenas, which will only cause playing time conflict between the two. Toronto needs room for Sonny Weems to be in the starting line-up. The other thing is that Toronto needs to trade a point-guard to make this work. so don't be shocked if Jose Calderon or Jarrett Jack go with Hedo. I believe if this happens the Toronto Raptors will still have chance of being in the 2011 NBA playoffs and maybe as a high seed team.

Toronto FC needs Montreal

Now I'm not a big soccer fan but that's why I'm writing this. Toronto is new team in the MLS with little to no rivals in the league. Soccer in Canada isn't exactly the biggest sport but the ones like it abouslty love it to death. The only problem is that it can't draw people in. The team does have a strong fan base but when compared to the Toronto Maple Leafs or the Toronto Raptors its small. The solution to this is not hard to find as its just up the road in Quebec. If Montreal came to MLS, Toronto FC would have themselves a rival. Not only would this be good for Toronto and Montreal but as well as the MLS. Montreal can support a soccer club no problem because its the second biggest city in Canada behind Toronto of course. This would booast the game of soccer in Canada. I know I would watch more FC games if they played Montreal.

Quickie:Blue Jays new swing at things

What?Toronto Blue Jays lead the league in home runs.

The Toronto Blue have the started the 2010 season on a good note by leading the MLB in home runs. They also are staying with the Yankees and Red Sox for the wildcard. Their success of hitting the long ball is because their new batting coach Dwayne Murphy. His view on things is each player has a different swing and there isn't just one perfect way to hack at the ball. Now only if he's efforts would help out in overall hits because the Blue Jays are last in the league in that category.

New Leafs Captain

For too long, many Leaf fans have been wondering which one of their players would wear the C. After Mats it was hard to choose from the bad roster that John Ferguson and Cliff Fletcher left behind. Fans were thinking Matt Stajan, Alexander Steen, or the veteran Thomas Kaberle. Well wonder no more Toronto sports fans, your new captain is the one and only Dion Phaneuf. Coming from Calgary Flames last season in trade that saw seven players switching jerseys, Dion helped the struggling Leafs to a pretty good ending of their 09-10 season.

Will he be another great captain for the Leafs?

Dion will be good captain, but not a great captain. For this reason, he isn't a forward, he isn't going to score every night or have much of a impact on the offense side of things which Leaf fans and media are used to. You can't pressure this Defense man to put up big stats like Mike Green on the Capitals. I actually really like this move by the leafs and not just cause Phil Kessel is American but because Dion Phaneuf is hard working and hard hitting player. He is also very vocal and in my opinion not overrated and still as talented as he was on Calgary. Some say he is washed up but you have to remember two things out of all this, first he was on a washed up Flames team. He's also only 25 and young players sometimes have bad seasons. Lets hope he can pick himself back up with a organization that trust him enough to wear the C. The one thing I don't like about this is that he as played for the leafs for only a short period of time, 26 games isn't enough to prove your the best leader on the team in my mind. All in all this was a great choice by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
